From FC Sheriff’s Office —

Late Wednesday, March 22, Cpl. S. Wilder of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white-in-color Nissan Altima (NC: JJL-1649) for a moving violation. The vehicle refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.

The vehicle ultimately crashed in the PVA of the old D&J car lot on Bickett Boulevard. The driver of the vehicle, Tony Thomas, of Selma, fled on foot, but was apprehended in the vacant lot beside Zaxby’s.

Thomas advised officers he was only 17-years-old.

There were three additional occupants who remained in the vehicle after it crashed. Those occupants were Naseem Hammond, of Princeton, Jerimiah Hargrove, of Selma, and Taleece Brockington, of Selma.

Twenty four grams of marijuana was located in Hammond’s groin area.

Hargrove was in possession of four Oxycodone pills and two grams of marijuana.

One firearm was located on the ground near the vehicle.

Hammond and Hargrove advised there were two guns in the vehicle.

After speaking with Thomas, he advised he threw a gun into the woods while running on foot. Thomas showed law enforcement where the gun was dropped. Deputy Splees located the firearm in the wooded area beside Zaxby’s. The firearm, a purple SCCY CPX-2 9mm came back stolen out of Zebulon.

Deputies learned that Thomas was lying about his age and that he was actually eighteen-years-old. That was confirmed via CJLEADS.
