Two arrested in Youngsville homicide; bond set at $5 million

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office arrested two individuals in connection with a homicide that occurred in the area of Kerigon Lane in Youngsville during the early morning hours of January 29.

Gavin Lloyd Miller, 18, and Dillon Thomas Piper, 19, have both been charged with 2nd Degree Murder in the death of Hamilton Mathia Woods Jr., 19.

All are Franklin County residents.

Law enforcement officers said all three men knew each other and the killing was not random.

Miller and Piper are currently being held at the Franklin County Detention Center. Bond has been set at five million dollars

“This is an ongoing investigation and more arrests are expected, however there is no ongoing threat to the public regarding this incident,” said Franklin County Sheriff Kevin White.
